Innanet James Releases “Memories (ft Taliwhoah)”

Following his recent critically-acclaimed releases ‘Bag’ and ‘Amazing’, Innanet James, the Silver Spring, Maryland rapper follows on with a new visual offering taken from his current body of work ‘Keep it Clean’ – the jazzy slow jam ‘Memories’ ft. Taliwhoah. Watch here

Keeping in tone with what is becoming a signature laid-back, innovative vibe, ‘Memories’ brings a bass-heavy, jazzy instrumental that allows Innanet’s fizzy, peppery flow to finesse alongside the gossamer additions of London-born vocalist Taliwhoah. Still in his early twenties, Innanet has undisputedly been one of the game’s breakout stars of the past few years that’s seen him emphatically reviewed everywhere from Pitchfork to XXL to Pigeons & Planes, , Directed by Danny Chamberlain, the visuals to ‘Memories’ sees the young rapper reflect on nostalgaic times and his journey to prominence. Bringing an up-tempo energy to such lyricism creates a bona fide summer jam and club banger in equal measure.

Speaking on the track, Innanet states: “The inspiration for the song was nostalgia. It’s got a real groove/dance vibe to it but it’s also about where I’m from and the things you experience growing up in Maryland. The video inspiration plays into that as well, I wanted to keep that nostalgic feel.”

Currently on the road with Bas as part of his ‘Milky Way’ tour, his label deal with HighRes Global/Rostrum Records last year saw a new album and with features in the heavyweight region with the likes of Pusha T involved, Innanet goes back to his roots and co-signs rising artist Taliwhoah to craft one of the bounciest and feelgood tracks of his career. It continues to be Innanet season in 2019.
