As part of this year’s Industry Take Over All Dayer, taking place in London’s Kings Pace on Saturday, February 23, and presented by the award-winning music development organisation Urban Development, in partnership with Association Of Independent Music (AIM), Complex UK, Reprezent Radio, GUAP Magazine and PRS For Music, among others, the best new and emerging artists and musicians are set to compete in one of the country’s biggest open mic events, the Industry Take Over Open Mic session, for a chance to perform at one of the UK’s biggest festivals of the year, The Great Escape.
The longstanding annual competition, which has been carefully cultivated by Urban Development over the years, is back, in conjunction with the UK’s biggest platform for youth development and creative growth, My Runway Group. With top industry experts and A&Rs including Universal Music’s Adele White, Warner Records UK’s Jack Duckworth, Davina Merchant (Downtown Music Publishing), Riyad Felix (Since 93/Sony Music UK), Joel Borquaye from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 1Xtra, Dan Owusu (BMG), and Nikki Camilleri (Believe), also offering their support and insight throughout the All Dayer event, this is an opportunity not to be missed. The crowned winner of the Open Mic competition will be heading to The Great Escape in Brighton in May.
Artists, rappers, singers, musicians and bands can enter the Industry Take Over Open Mic competition by following Urban Development on Twitter or Instagram (@urbandevelopmnt), and upload a 60-second video of a rap freestyle or vocal performance, with the hashtag #IndustryTakeover. The best social media entries will then be invited to perform at the Open Mic session on Saturday, February 23, with the best performer going on to The Great Escape, taking the biggest step forward of their career.
Urban Development’s Industry Take Over All Dayer 2019 takes place on Saturday, February 23 at Kings Place. Advanced tickets are available right now via Eventbrite.
