From ruminating electronica to R&B-tinged vocals, the music of London-based, alternative pop songwriter/producer Jack Hawitt will instantly tug at your heartstrings.
You may already recognise the name Jack Hawitt – his debut single, ‘Be The One’, a haunting cover of DuaLipa‘s hit, was released in 2017 and featured on Love Island and The X-Factor 2018, resulting in over 450,000 streams on Spotify.
Jack’s sophomore release, a co-write and feature with DJ Licious called ‘Twisted Games’, also favoured well with the blogs and fans, having reached number four on the Belgium chart and almost 1 million Spotify streams, as well as support from Tiesto. If that isn’t enough to contend with, ‘Without You’ by Embody featuring Jack has also been streamed over 7 milliontimes on Spotify.
Fast-forward to 2019 and Jack’s is ready to release his latest solo endeavour, ‘Grow’, which perhaps surprisingly notes sound references to artists including Matt Corby and FreyaRidings.
Starting with a deep drum rhythm, Jack’s soulful vocals set a pensive tone throughout, during which the captivating piano keys kick in and take hold of the listener.
Speaking of ‘Grow,’ Jack explains, “Grow is about realising that everything we experience, good and bad, is what has got us to this very moment. It’s about embracing the past and diving into the future.”
