INTERVIEW: Julian Jordan

Hi Julian, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Thanks for having me! Doing great! Really busy these days, but my energy level is really high, and I love working hard.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Need You”?

It was awesome to make this track together with the amazing act SMBDY! They gave me amazing vocals, and I couldn’t wait until I could start on the production. I ran to the studio. The production sessions for this record were so much fun! This is the kind of track you can expect from me more in 2019; I only want to release next level music this year!

Did any event, in particular, inspire you to write this song?

It was during ADE that I received the vocals for this track, after all the meetings and speaking to all the amazing people I really got inspired, I went to the studio and started working on the track. Thought it was time to make something special and different and I hope I succeeded with that!

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Yes, we already recorded it too! It is really something else. Love the team that worked on it, and I think it really fits the track and it is never done before by any other DJ! It is hard to explain, so go check it out haha!

How was the recording and writing process?

The fun fact about the track is that I never actually met SMBDY, they just sent me their vocals, and I was immediately hooked. It was fun to see that you can collaborate with an artist or vocalist without actually meeting him or her these days.

After the success from your previous work – do you feel any pressure as you release a new material or rather the opposite?

I just go with the flow, I have so much new music coming up and I am so proud of every track that I have made and is coming out, I think that is most important. Of course, it is amazing if track becomes a huge hit, but the most important aspect is that the artists loves his/her own track.

Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else rather than in your own?

It depends on who I am working with and on the sessions. Some producers are more dominant than others, I think I can be like that too sometimes haha!

How much creative room is left for you when collaborating with these artists?

That depends on the session as well. During collaborations I always try to put my own creativity in the track that we are working on, I don’t like it if I didn’t have any creative impact in it! When I release a song, I want to have played a big part in the making of, if that’s not the case, I probably won’t release the track because it wouldn’t be a Julian Jordan track haha!

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

YES! Loads of new music is coming out! Got so many next level tracks ready! It’s becoming hard to plan a new release when I finish a new track these days haha! You should come to one of my shows, you will hear some really exclusive music that isn’t released yet!

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

The first track after my new release Need You, is going to be a collab with Seth Hills and is really the bomb! It works on every crowd and really has that next level energy you will be hearing more from me in 2019!

Any plans to hit the road?

Yes! Actually, travelling all around the world this year and will try to see as much fans as possible! Really love to discover new places, but I already have seen so much of this beautiful planet which I am very grateful for! Can’t wait to show everyone around the world what I have been working on!

What else is happening next in Julian Jordan’s world?

Besides the fact that I live for my music, I really try to stay healthy too. Have been kickboxing once a week for a while now and I really love it! It keeps me fit and healthy, and I can give all my energy for an hour!
