Ibibio Sound Machine is set to release their third album Doko Mien on March 22nd via Merge Records. Today, the genre-bending, culture-fusing group UK/Nigerian group return with a fresh taste from the record. Hear the groovesome, inclusive jam “Wanna Come Down” here: https://youtu.be/YzrEBE2A2T4.

In line with the track’s beckoning title, the band’s frontwoman Eno Williamssays, “The Ibibio lyrics of the track are about the healing power of the river and the chorus. ‘Wanna come down, get ready ‘coz we’re gonna go’ is inviting people to come, dance and get involved with what’s going on.”

“Wanna Come Down” follows first album single “Tell Me (Doko Mien),” a song that features disco beats colliding with polyrhythm and pizzicato guitar and received unanimous praise from US & UK media. Revisit it here:https://youtu.be/RbK2dERL_BA.

With Ibibio Sound Machine’s spring North American and UK dates fast approaching, the band recently offered fans an early glimpse of new material from Doko Mien live as part of KEXP’s International Clash Day in London at Studio 9294 alongside the likes of IDLES, Goat Girl and Kero Kero Bonito.
