Punk-pop duo the Dollyrots have been locked away at Minnesota’s famed Pachyderm Studios recording what will be their 7thstudio album due out later this spring.  The twosome has decided to end their PledgeMusic campaign, but supporters will find all the same exclusives and rare items at the band’s new DIY Album Project store. Check it out here:

“We are extremely disappointed to announce we are canceling the PledgeMusic Campaign for our 7th Studio album. This would have been our 4th fan-funded album with Pledge and although there have been hiccups here and there our past experiences were always great for our fans and us. The possibility that we might not be paid or that the company could fold and take our fan’s money is not something we can risk. We also feel we need to stand in solidarity with the artists who aren’t being paid within the agreed upon schedule. This isn’t okay for them or their fans either. When people Pledge they aren’t making donations, they are paying for a tangible product and an album-making experience that we absolutely need to deliver on. We finished tracking last week and have never been more excited to share an album (LIKE REALLY!). The timing is right; at this point, no one’s been charged, and we are yet to finish the project. So, we are migrating to our own site, one that we built from the ground up to incorporate the best parts of the crowdsourcing experience and for the first time do this entirely on our own, 100% DIY and without a label, outside investment, or even a crowdsourcing platform. Now we just have to pray that the 700+ fans that already pledged for this album are willing to take a leap and follow us to our own site. It is not without worry, but we feel it is our best choice. The last thing we would want is to jeopardize our ability to deliver a great record to the diehards that support our music. This is new territory, but we’ve never been afraid to strike out on our own. – explains Dollyrot Kelly Ogden
