Pastis is an emerging five piece indie rock group from Helsinki taking influence from genres such as Britpop/rock, merseybeat and modern indie-rock. Their debut album ‘Circles’ (released in February 2019) comes packed with catchy choruses, merry melodies and hopeful lyrics.

In the footsteps of DMA’s and Shame, Pastis proves there is still a lot to be discovered in guitar-driven anthems. The laid back attitude and joie de vivre of the band is present in the arrangements which flow smoothly from dramatic and tragic (Valour Valour, Ballad of Franz Reichelt) to playful and boisterous (Barrack Street, Disco Volante). The bands love for vocal harmonies further adds to the Pastis trademark sound.

A group of friends from the football terraces formed Pastis in the beginning of 2017 and later that year self-released their debut EP ‘Four Stories’. The EP quickly caught the attention of Finnish music media and earned the band a record deal with local classic indie label Stupido Records.

In the summer of 2018 The band teamed up with Finnish grammy winning producer Lauri Eloranta to record their debut LP ‘Circles’ (release Feb 2019).

The first two singles ’Amazon’ and ’Valour Valour’ created great excitement and gathered radio plays at home and internationally as well as multiple online features including AlexRainbirdMusic and The Revue. A third single titled ‘Around Here’ is out now. Listen here

The band started the new year with a sold out show in downtown Helsinki and are at the moment preparing for a busy spring. Pastis is playing shows throughout Finland, planning festival shows and European dates as well as continuously writing new material.
