Following the success of last years debut mini-album Songs for the Pyre, Surrey singer-songwriter Second Hand Poet has released his spine tingling new single “I’ll Be Yours”. The intense new track beckons you with its heartfelt lyrics and beguiling manner. Watch here
Songs for the Pyre gained continued acclaim from the likes of BBC Introducing, who played tracks from the record an impressive eight times, which resulted in Second Hand Poet being invited into the studio for a live lounge session.
The record continued to gain traction, being reviewed extensively online & making its way onto thirty plus Spotify playlists.
Second Hand Poet is the secretive moniker of Jamie Tipson, in his relatively short career so far, Jamie has risen up from years of open mic nights in London to tours with Placebo’s Steve forrest, Moddi & Paper Aeroplanes to name a few. He has performed live sessions for Ont’Sofa, Gibson Guitars & Oak Sessions and has embarked on self promoted and funded tours around England and to Belgium.
The new single I’ll Be Yours was recorded by Jamie himself above a train station on the southern line, the rumble and vibration of the trains sometimes scrapped takes but also added a beautifully realist soundscape to the songs…
A flurry of singles will follow this one, which will result in an EP mid 2019.
