Netherlands-based record label Be Yourself signee Elle Hollis has returned with a brooding new single titled Mind Games – a beautifully crafted pop-electronic hybrid that places Elle’s captivating voice next to glimmering production and a dream-like vibe. An artist who never stops evolving, Mind Games sees Elle Hollis reach a new level of creative maturity, hinting at a very exciting 2019.

22-year-old Elle Hollis was born and raised in a tiny place in the south of The Netherlands but her music draws on influences from all around the globe. She made her way to the forefront of the music industry after a trip to Stockholm, pop music’s mecca. There, she signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell and refined her song writing ability – a talent that sparked writing trips to Los Angeles and New York. The result is Elle’s distinct cosmopolitan sound that fuses raw song writing with wonderfully immersive production. It’s a sound that has found its way onto Be Yourself and promises an exciting year ahead, packed to the brim with new music.

Mind Games is steeped in Elle’s authentic approach to song writing. Here’s what she had to say about the new single:

“I wanted to be as literal and straight forward as possible about the state of mind you can be in when you keep telling yourself you’re over someone and you don’t have feelings for them, but deep down you know it’s not true. You’re willing to tell him, other people, and most of all yourself everything to make the situation seem okay. Writing Mind Games was an eye opener that made me realize you’re only playing games with yourself.”

Adding another string to Elle Hollis’ creative bow, Mind Games has a distinct and ethereal vibe propped up with undulating synth basses and energetic beats. Elle’s golden rule for writing is for “the song never to lose its impact when stripped down”. Behind Mind Games is a finely crafted song that showcases Elle’s talent for telling a story as well as creating memorable, innovative music.
