Nashville-based, LGBTQ pop writer/performer Myylo releases his new single Jonesing on January 18, 2019.
With a series of releases under his belt, the emerging pop act looks to cement himself as a consistently genuine artist with his latest offering Jonesing. After participating in a week-long Telluride, Colorado writing trip with Mike Posner, and another withBaby Face and Spotify Secret Genius, Myylo is looking forward to releasing a cache of songs, including Jonesing, in 2019.
Jonesing mixes idiosyncratic lyricism, janky classical guitar, lo-fi saxophone licks, and shimmering harmonies to create something truly unique. Written about the hardships of long-distance dating and the unfortunate acceptance that the relationship won’t work out, Jonesing juxtaposes mature lyricism with a playful and whimsical tone, exploring what it’s like to “want a boy who’s just too damn far away”.
With fine-tuned indie-pop production, Myylo’s latest release gives him a head-turning sound that demands to be heard. 2018 was a big year for the artist, having penned and performed the Starbucks’ 2018 National Holiday Campaign and having supported several major label artists. 2019 looks to be even bigger with Myylo standing tall on this release.
Offering some insight into the new single, Myylo explains,
“I decided to take a stab at the long-distance thing last year and for a while, I was digging it: Facetiming for hours, weeklong trips to each other’s cities, and even the drama and tension of being apart. But, at a certain point, I just kind of realized that things had to fizzle out. “Jonesing” is me processing that against an energetic and whimsical soundscape.”
