G FLIP Releases “DRINK TOO MUCH” and “BRING ME HOME” Video

One of 2018’s breakout stars G Flip, aka Melbourne singer, drummer and multi-instrumentalist Georgia Flipo, enters 2019 blazing with two new tracks “Drink Too Much” and “Bring Me Home“. Both songs demonstrate the versatility of the talented young artist.

First up G Flip shared the video to “Bring Me Home”, a gorgeously emotive ballad about her mental state over the course of the most intense period of her life. The track shows a different side to her as a songwriter and deals with the side effects of and realities of her life changing dramatically over the last 12 months.

“2018 was an epic, exciting, exhausting year for me and my brain struggled to keep up. I had quite a bit of anxiety and frankly, it scared the shit out of me. It was really overwhelming and this song is about that. It’s ok not to be ok sometimes.”

She continues “I needed the film clip to be emotional like the song. I wrote this song when I was breaking down so I wanted to portray that in the visual. I can’t act to save my life so I put myself in a hot warehouse on a 97 degree day and drummed for 6 hours straight until I couldn’t anymore to show that real emotion and convey what I was feeling.”

G Flip also gives some insight behind “Drink Too Much” telling us “This is one of my oldest songs I perform. I wrote it after a big night at Melbourne club Revolver. I used to be a bit of a party animal back in the day before I settled down to take my career seriously. My music is a bit like an open diary. It’s a fun song but it also tells how I was feeling at the time: I got dumped, I was lonely and I was young and dumb.”

Since the release of her debut track “About You” in early 2018, G Flip has become one of the most talked about artists in Australia and around the world. The breakout single scored a Pitchfork Best New Track, topped US college radio and landed in the top 20 of the Spotify Global Viral Charts. Combined with her second single “Killing My Time”, G Flip’s two releases have already received over 23 million streams, been championed by Beats1 (Zane Lowe & Matt Wilkinson), BBC Radio 1 (Annie Mac, Phil Taggart & Huw Stephens),KCRW, NPR and made G Flip one of the 2018’s most played artists on triple j back home in Australia. G Flip wowed industry and fans with her debut performances at SXSW, The Great Escape, Field Day UK and Splendour in the Grass, before selling out her debut Australian tour.
