Hip-hop artist DBM premieres his new single “Nefertiti (In My House)” produced by Instrument Addicts exclusively through Rhyme Junkie. “Nefertiti (In My House)” is the third single off DBM’s debut studio album, From Ashes Rose A King (#FARAK) which is scheduled to be released this March.
A love song is a cliché rap single, unless it is written by DBM aka Dane The Beautiful Monster. The Newark, New Jersey based rapper tells a story about an encounter with the ancient pharaoh, Nefertiti. “Nefertiti (In My House) sitting on my couch, vaporizer in her mouth, she’s resurrected, homie / And she the real thang, homie she the real thang,” rhymes DBM on the songs introduction. Instrument Addicts melodic production amplifies DBM’s slurred cadence which elevates with the tracks chord progressions.
When asked to explain the concept of “Nefertiti (In My House)” DBM says, “Queen Nefertiti of Egypt is bored with her king and wants a new lover. She knows any man she beds will be beheaded, but gets permission from an alien deity to use a time machine to travel into the future. Upon Nefertiti’s arrival, she seduces the only man capable of fulfilling her desires, me (DBM).”
His aptitude for the art of rap is highlighted in the bizarre love story that is “Nefertiti (In My House).” Rhyme Junkie (owned by Time Inc.) premiered “Nefertiti (In My House)” and offered an exclusive interview with the rapper. “DBM may have been born and raised in the hardened heart of New Jersey but while he’s visiting planet Earth, all intellectual cylinders are firing and he’s leaving the collective with some sage wisdom this lifetime.”
Their conversation ranged from music to spiritual evolution. When asked to describe his creative process DBM says, “I am subconsciously writing my songs far before I sit down to pen them. Just living life as a foundation is number one.”
DBM’s rapping attracted a variety of new listeners in 2018. Independent music and culture publication Ghettoblaster Magazine affirmed DBM’s lyrical prowess after premiering his previous single “Slow Money.” “DBM is a long-standing indie emcee who has a true gift as a wordsmith.”
The unusual theme and storytelling heard on “Nefertiti (In My House)” could attract leading hip-hop publications like RESPECT. and Above Average Hip-Hop that wrote, “DBM aka Dane the Beautiful Monster, comes across as a businessman, political radical and skilled rhyme machine” after interviewing him in August.
DBM’s previous singles “Slow Money” and “Magic/I Hate Rap” are available now and will be featured on his debut studio album From Ashes Rose A King (#FARAK) which is scheduled to be released this March.
Fans can stream “Nefertiti (In My House)” exclusively through Rhyme Junkie. The single will be released worldwide on Friday, January 11th across all major music streaming services. For updates and more information about DBM please refer to the social media links below.
