INTERVIEW: Brady Novotny

How would you classify your music?

Brady Novotny is a U.S. melodic rock guitar Artist/instrumentalist with a flamenco and world twist.

Who are some of your top 5 musical influences?

Guitarist Randy Rhoads, Guitar Duo Strunz & Farah, Guitarist Steve Vai, Composer J.S. Bach, and Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore.

What do you want fans to take from your music?

To rekindle their own passion in life and to be inspired to pursue their dreams.

How’s the music scene in your locale?

It seems to be growing. It’s not what it used to be in earlier decades, but it’s “on the mend”.

What is the best concert you have been to? What do you like most about playing live?

The best concert was in an intimate setting – it was a concert played by Joe Satriani to a small group of about 100 people.

The best thing about playing live is connecting with the people through the music; it’s great to watch people disconnect from the stress in their lives and find what they need in the music.

Is there a song on your latest CD release here that stands out as your personal favorite, and why?

Ancient Romance is a favorite – the song sounds like the title and feels like a musical journey. It musically expresses a love story – it could be set in Rome, Venice, Paris – but regardless, it evokes the images of 2 people enjoying their love story.

How have you evolved as an artist over the last year?

Brady has focused more on his composition skills and song writing and less on his technical chops.

If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, have a drink with any band or artist (dead or alive) who would it be?

Lindsey Stirling.

What’s next for you?

Promoting the album, playing shows, and continuing to work on follow up material.
