A record producer and published songwriter, Robbie G is also a seasoned lead guitarist and bass player. His ability to strengthen any musical ensemble has afforded him a spot alongside artists opening for legends like Buddy Guy, BB King, Van Halen and Joss Stone. He was even invited on stage to play with the legendary Derek Trucks after impressing him while on tour with Ryan Shaw.
Robbie’s other creative projects include co-writing the theme song for the Cartoon Network series The Life and Times of Juniper Lee alongside Stewart Copeland as well as original content for the likes of Victoria’s Secret, ESPN, Electronic Arts and plenty more.
In 2015, Robbie lost one of his biggest supporters, his dad. Remembering what was important to him led him back to the path of creating for himself. Now Robbie is pouring his experience, practice and skill gained from his wealth of collaborations into his own project, MODERN WHALE.
What started out as more rock oriented, has become a cross between electro pop and indie pop and is described by Robbie as now being somewhere “between Phoenix and the Postal Service.” The harbinger for MODERN WHALE‘s upcoming EP, the single “Dead Wrong” is out now and an EP will be out early 2019.
