Memory Keepers share cover of Brian Eno’s “Third Uncle”

Austin, TX’s Memory Keepers is the electronic side project of Jared Boulanger and Amarah Ulghani from The Sour Notes. As the duo gear up for the release of a new EP in early 2019, we have a taste of what to expect with their cover of Brian Eno’s “Third Uncle,” premiering at Tiny Mix Tapes.

The upcoming EP was recorded at Sour Patch Bay in Austin, mixed at The Treehouse in Houston by Steve Christensen and mastered at Timeless Mastering in Brooklyn by Heba Kadry (Bjork, Slowdive).

Speaking of the new single, Boulanger explains, “As we were writing our first batch of songs to perform live, we ended up needing a few extra minutes to keep the party going… We thought Eno’s ‘Third Uncle’ was the perfect fit for us to cover… it being a very danceable, punk-fusion that worked well with our instrumentation. We spun it around with more pulsing synthesizers and vocoder in lieu of wild guitars from the original. It’s funny to hear people come up to us after the show and say they really liked that Bauhaus song.”
