Twenty-five year old singer/songwriter Plested started his musical career as one half of acclaimed duo Chasing Grace, but it would take a year before he realised that he just wanted to write songs. Once he had chosen this direction, however, in the space of over a year he would become one of the most sought-after writers in the business – penning for the likes of Zayn Malik to Little Mix to Naughty Boy and Ray BLK.
But he missed being an artist; now following a stream of quiet storm releases this year, including ‘Habits’, ‘Back Up Plan’, ‘Ribcage’ and ‘Easier Said Than Done’, the emerging singer/songwriter now releases “Your Name” – a powerful melodic offering that cements not only a stream of polished releases but also establishes just why he’s moving in such high company. His softly-burnished vocal against a rousing, raucous guitar continues to define a plainly talented writer and musician. Watch here
With a debut solo album on the horizon, the emerging star has attracted around him some of the biggest producers and songwriters in the game: Malay (Frank Ocean, Lorde), Eg White (Adele, Sam Smith) and Emily Warren (Dua Lipa, Chainsmokers) to name just a few.
Continuing to drop chart-ready, thoughtful music such as this, the rising star continues to stake his deserved claim on the scene and we will undoubtedly be hearing a lot more of Plested in 2019.
