Today, six-time Juno Award winner and Multi-Platinum singer-songwriter Serena Ryder has released the official music video for “Christmas Kisses” via Serenader Source/Universal Music Canada. Watch the official music video HERE.

Directed by Lisa Mann, the video celebrates the message of Ryder’s original song: how the most important part of the holidays is spending time with loved ones rather than focusing on material gifts. Guest starring in the video – and perfectly capturing how powerful the gift of love is – are several Canadian dog influencers including @hermaninthehood@lildogbigcity@owenthegriff@remsandfriends, and @fortheloveofsmiley.

Ryder also partnered with the Ontario SPCA to feature rescue dogs who are in need of adoption throughout the video. The Ontario SPCA has created a unique “Christmas Kisses” page where donations can be submitted to help care for rescue animals. “Christmas Kisses”, co-written by Serena Ryder and fellow multi-platinum songwriter, Simon Wilcox, is the new original song and title track of Ryder’s first ever holiday album. Produced by Canadian Music Hall of Fame Inductee Bob Ezrin (Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd), Christmas Kisses is currently climbing the Holiday Radio Chart with four of Ryder’s classic covers within the Top 50 and the lead single, “Christmas Kisses”, sitting at #3!

On collaborating with Ryder on her first holiday album, Bob Ezrin said, “Serena is so versatile and has such a command of her instrument that anything is possible with her. So, we picked what we thought would be the most elegant approach to Christmas classics – one that shone the brightest light on the songs themselves and on her magnificent voice.”

Christmas Kisses is available now on gold-coloured vinyl, CD, and all digital streaming platforms. Listen to the album HERE.

Recorded in Toronto, Christmas Kisses was a true passion project for Ryder who infused her love of jazz into holiday classics that celebrate the spirit of the holidays. “Jazz music has always been one of my biggest vocal influencers,” says Ryder. “When I was a young girl, I would spend hours upon hours locked away in my room listening and singing to Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simon and Chet Baker. It’s been a dream of mine to be able to sing an entire album in this style – and also a dream to be able to embrace the spirit of Christmas in a genuinely joyful way. I had the time of my life singing these classic songs in the style of my greatest influencers and in the company of my best friends. I hope the world feels the love we all put into this record.”

After kicking off the 2018 holiday season with her performance of “Christmas Kisses” at the 2018 Original Santa Claus Parade, Ryder today begins her East Coast Christmas Kisses Tour in Halifax before making stops in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. See below for the full list of tour dates.
