Earlier this year, producer, singer, songwriter and musician Matilda Eyre released her debut single ‘FYA’, which was described by Atwood Magazine as a “hazy, hypnotic [and] a dark ode to the self that explores societal pressure and detachment.” Not only did ‘FYA’ receive an overwhelming amount of support from the online music community, the single was also aired on BBC Introducing London, Soho Radio, Hoxton Radio and Amazing Radio.
Now, the London-based German artist returns with another stunning display of her mesmeric electronic production and her penchant for eerily beautiful pop melodies with new single ‘The Calling’. Over blossoming digital beats, vibrating bass and atmospheric piano chords, Matilda Eyre explores the changeability of the human condition, and how we’re so often distracted from our hopes, dreams, and inner truths.
“The Calling is a song about our dreams and forgotten truths. The way we distract ourselves, get wrapped up and abandon our hearts; although like a subtle wind, like an echo from far away, our dreams are calling. That moment when we suddenly realize we’ve gone astray. The Calling is a reminder of all dreams forgotten and a call to step out of your shadows and into the light.” – Matilda Eyre
