Taken By Trees Release “Holiday” w/ Paste + Live w/ Peter Björn & John In LA + New LP Out Now

Today, Swedish indie pop act Taken By Trees releases Holiday” with Paste Magazine – a dreamy and festive holiday-themed single highlighted by elements of sleigh bells and the soft vocals of frontwoman Victoria Bergsman, making it the perfect song to kick off the holiday season. About the new single, Bergsman comments: “When I wrote the lyrics for Holiday I was very upset. I was upset about Trump winning in the elections. I remembered I changed the lyrics from how they were originally, I was very angry when I started writing them and I came back to them and felt I wanted to make them less angry and add some hope and comfort. The song is telling a story of sadness and despair but finding a way out of it, at least for the moment. I am still upset, but I can feel some hope around me.”

Taken By Trees recently released their 4th full length LP Yellow To Blue, a playful and hopeful ten-track collection that explores the pop genre to its fullest, eliciting the help of Jesse Shatkins’ A-list calibre (Sia, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson) and co-writers Ariel Rechtshaid (Haim, Usher), Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend) and Daniel Nigro (Sky Ferraria). Bergsman, formerly of The Concretes, has been featured on Peter, Bjorn and John‘s global hit “Young Folks“, which garnered over 115 million streams on Spotify and has appeared on multiple late night TV shows such as Jay Leno and Conan O’Brian. Taken By Trees’ crisp sun-soaked driving rhythms, gritty bass, and lush hi-fi mixes have garnered over 30 million streams since 2015.

Fans in LA can catch the kinetic live energy of Taken By Trees on December 8th at The Teragram Ballroom when they open for Peter Björn & John. Tickets are available here.
