After gaining momentum with their debut track “Slip,” Boston-based collective Lick Neon is debuting their next selection today via Relix. Subtly layered yet smoothly complex, “She Thinks I Don’t Care” twists and turns over a conflict of control, sonically reminiscent of Cat Stevens, David Vandervelde, or José Gonzalez. Explains songwriter and frontman Nick Leon, “‘She Thinks I Don’t Care is both a love song and a song discussing self awareness. It’s from the perspective of someone who realizes how little control they have over their own mind and actions, especially when faced with the tribulations of a failing romance.”
The soft and somber acoustic narrative of “She Thinks I Don’t Care” is just one more side in the upcoming collection of tracks that have been floating around the Boston underground – some older, some newer. Stay tuned for the debut Lick Neon full-length, coming in 2019!
