Curtis Alto, one of Belgium’s most exciting electronic exports, have returned to the world renowned Spinnin’ Records via their own sub label Curtis Alto Music with a hands-in-the-air new single. Titled Sunday, the single fuses live instrumentation with a distinct French-touch sound and renders an exhilarating listen from start to finish. The lyrics are a form of social criticism and describe two different storylines on the edge of society. The artwork weaves in with the music and the lyrics and was created as a collaboration between Curtis Alto and the Belgian fashion designer Tom Van der Borght.
Curtis Alto is composed of two electronic music producing brothers from Belgium who are the new kids on the block with notable hits including Clear Vision and Hold Me Close. The duo’s widely loved signature sound has been supported by Pete Tong, Faithless, Martin Solveig and Don Diablo, among others, and is rooted in their deft production abilities and an impressive musical talent that sees them inject their own vocals, percussion and keys into their music.
The brothers have already been turning heads, bringing their live-shows to the world’s best festivals like Tomorrowland, Parookaville, Balaton Sound, We Are Electric, Electric Love, and The Ark. They also sold-out Vooruit in Belgium and have supported The Chainsmokers in de Lotto Arena, bring their unique Curtis Alto sound to a huge audience. Add to this the brother’s “daydreams” live sessions where they perform at various unique locations (such as abandoned cooling towers), and its clear to see Curtis Alto are on the path to something very special.
Sunday is another mesmerising and sophisticated sonic adventure from Curtis Alto that combines astute social lyrics with a 70s rock inspired instrumental. The single draws on an array of musical inspiration and effortlessly marries astronomical slides with an addictive bouncing bassline for an electronic hybrid that is sure to stay in people’s memories for a long time to come.
