To coincide with the release of their debut EP on Tip Top Recordings, space – surf punks Japanese Television will play a London show at The Finsbury on 15th of December 2018.
The ‘Tick Tock’ EP features three stunning instrumental tracks and was recorded live onto 8-track tape in one take withKristian Bell of The Wytches.
Lead track ‘Tick Tock’ harks back to ‘70s-era motorik rock, employing organs, synths and reverb-drenched guitars cascading over a hypnotic, driving bass. The other-worldly ‘Surfing Saucers’ and ‘Lizard Moon’ are eerie space-rock adventures while the sun-soaked ‘Country Joe’ is reminiscent of the sound of ‘60s surf pop.
Formed in London late last year, the Japanese Television line up of Alex Lawton (bass), Ian Thorn (keys and harp), Tim David Jones (guitar) and Al Brown (drums) play rhythmic guitar led jams and classic ‘surf’ instrumentation that takes it’s musical influence from the likes of Hawkwind and Neu!
Following the December date, Japanese Television will head out on a UK Tour and play the following venues.

THU 17TH JAN: THE MOTH CLUB (w/ Lorelle Meets the Obsolete)
