INTERVIEW: C Wired

Hi Chuck, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Life’s good, making music.

Can you talk to us more about your song “Little Sisters”?

It’s a song about sexual role playing and having fun. People take alternative sexual practices way too seriously. Consenting adults – knock yourself out. The lyrics are an amalgamation of some of my past relationships.  Princess Kat preferred to touch her toes and not be on top.  I may have to give her partial songwriting credit J

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

Princess Kat, Baby Shay and little Candy Sandy are real experiences with some great women I have have been with in the past.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Not at this time I’m looking to place my video dollars into another song on the EP – Botticelli Baby.

The single comes off your new album Angel Circuit Engaged – what’s the story behind the title?

First song I ever wrote.  We all have an Angelic energy inside all of us.  You need to consciously tap into it and engage it. Lots of perilous events occurring right now.

Would you call this a conceptual record?

Its hard for me to think that way.  I really hear these things

How was the recording and writing process?

I hear these songs (sometimes in my sleep). When I’m deep and relaxed operating from another level of consciousness they come. Usually I will hear the main chord or groove structure first.  I have woken up many times at 3:00-4:00 in the morning when I dream these melodies and  put the licks down on an acoustic guitar that I keep by my bed.  If I don’t do it right away I will forget it.  The title and  lyrics come later most of the time I don’t really know where the song is going or what it is going to become. I don’t write to an objective.  Meaning I don’t sit down and say OK what can I write that’s clever or maybe popular. I more or less scribe these songs as they come through me.  They are what they are. I can observe them as a third party and go wow.  So that’s what this treasure is all about.

What role does Shakespeare play in your music?

My lyrics are a gift.  It has been a joy to discover that part of me. Just the way my mind works and what comes through.  I will let them be surreal or open to interpretation. Ultimately they are based on two poles of Spirituality or Sexuality

What aspect of life did you get to explore on this record?

Climb the Mountain and Angels Are Not Afraid of the Dark are very much about my spiritual growth path. 12 step, Course of Miracle and Course of Love. They are about recognizing and reducing our egos and letting it our beliefs in false idols go.  For example, I was very money motivated early on in my life.  There is nothing wrong with making money, But it was clear to me that my music was not to be about a profit motive. When you begin to surrender your egoic belief’s and thought patterns you allow a Higher Self to shine through. “Black holds no spell over Angels when White let go of all we own”.

Any plans to hit the road?

We are starting to promote and chart.  Looking into touring summer 19 in Europe and US.

What else is happening next in C Wired’s world?

Making more music.  I am writing all the time.  I have another 30 songs ready to be recorded and am writing more.  Our plan is to release 2-3 EPs a year.  I like the six song format instead of the traditional 10-14 song album.  Its more in line with the way we absorb and listen to music now.
