Jim Junior Releases “Is It The Right Time”

Meet Jim Junior – one of the most promising talents to rise from the Toronto shores. Composing his own brand of a soul-infused pop, he is proving to be very popular following his releases “Over Again”, “Just Can’t Give Up” and “The Dark Side” which streamed almost a quarter of a million on Spotify!

Latest release, “Is It The Right Time” continues with similar promise, having been selected for Spotify’s coolest tastemaker playlist – New Music Friday – sitting amongst some of the biggest global names including Madison Beer, Cheryl Cole and Jessie Reyez. A place well deserved. The single offers a punchy synth undercurrent to carry alongside Prince-esque vocals, a track to please the ears of any 80’s pop fan.

“Is It The Right Time is really about that transcendental moment when love (or what looks like love) first hits you. It’s not fluffy or sentimental, but intoxicating and wild. It’s that instant when the possibilities seem endless and you feel nervous yet free, like no matter what happens it will all work out somehow.” Jim Junior explains.

As a Toronto resident, he spent many years hosting illegal parties, vocaling his own music during his DJ sets which saw people coming back and asking for more at the next party. Those DJ sets quickly became gigs with only original content. Before all this he studied contemporary jazz at college where his influences grew. As his two musical experiences collided, it’s clear to see the uniqueness the singer-songwriter-producer had at his disposal on The Dark Side. Expect collaborations with Lxury & Kindness soon, along with others.
