And The Kids have announced their third full-length album When This Life Is Over to be released February 22 on Signature Sounds (Lake Street Dive, Josh Ritter, Dustbowl Revival). The Western Massachusetts indie rockers shared a video for the album’s first single, a rambunctious celebration of life fueled by semi-comical truth: “life is a bastard, life wants to kill you, don’t get old.”

According to And The Kids, the aptly titled new album “explores the total freedom of mortality’s fate.” True to their reputable recklessness, the band valued vivacity over structure in the creation of their third full-length. “We took inspiration from the lyrics ‘When this life is over, no more rules, no more orders’ and let that set the tone of the whole album, meaning, Let’s break the rules of what an album should be. Let’s put bedroom demos on the album! Let’s put a million harmonies on it! Let’s not worry about how we might play stuff live!” It’s an inventive collection, alive in every moment of addressing impending death.

And The Kids have also announced a support run with Slothrust. Repeatedly noted for their compelling live presence by press, fans and artist peers alike, the group has opened for acts as versatile as Blondie, Lucy Dacus and Shakey Graves among others. They are currently touring with Caroline Rose and will join Rubblebucket on the road later this year. All dates are detailed below. Full album release tour to be announced.
