INTERVIEW: Nat Berhanu

How would you classify your music?

All Styles Of Electronica Music. This Particular Album Is What I Call  Urban Delight. Trap, Drum & Base and Dubstep.

Tell us about your latest release?

This album is the 3rd album I have released under the label ‘Nile Merchant’ which is a label I have formed. The first album #Incredulous was mainly a Dance Album and I released an EP album similar to this album having in mind the album following was a 28 track album. #Emphatic has couple of Dubstep tracks and A Drum & Base tune. It was preparing the audience for a larger album really.

The Name of this album is ‘The Trilogy Album’.

The album has three parts. The first part is mainly #Dubstep The second #Drum&Base and The Third is #Trap.

Initially, I thought about releasing individual albums, then I thought it’d be great to combine them in to one album. That was four years ago, It took me two years to accomplish that.

After great reception on SoundCloud, I felt that this album is and will be a success. The album as the other two is composed, recorded, produced by myself.

Who are some of your top 5 musical influences?

Michael Jackson, Prince, Santana, Paul Hardcastle, Stevie Ray Vaughan.

What do you want fans to take from your music?

Unique Listening Experience. I Am Not Only An Independent Artist, I Am Naturally Gifted Musician. That Definitely Reflects In All The Songs. Music Is Happiness, It Alters Moods, Enlightens &  Make You Want To Dance. My Music Does That.

How’s the music scene in your locale?

Not Great.

However London, Birmingham & Manchester Are Not Far Away.

What is the best concert you have been to?

What do you like most about playing live? It  Would Have To Be Def Leppard. Seeing Rick The Drummer Play Drums With One Hand Is Something I Will Not Forget. Again In The Same City, I Saw Bobby Brown At The Height Of His Career.

Is there a song on your latest CD release here that stands out as your personal favorite, and why?

It’s A Great Album. All The Songs Are Great. If I Had To Pick One, It’s #Fragility&Strength.

This Track Describes Me, Best.

How have you evolved as an artist over the last year?

Not Being Afraid Of Doing Different Things, Caring More About The Process, The Before, During & After. Realizing That Keeping Authenticity At All Times Is Super Important. Plus, Knowing, More Is Best If Accompanied By Quality.

If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, have a drink with any band or artist (dead or alive) who would it be?

I Always Respond How I Feel At This Moment In Time Or Recently & It Would Have To Be #Prince Wish He Was Alive. Because I Am Listening To Top 40 Or 50 Charts, It Would Have To Be French Montana Or Kodak. Having A Jamming Session With Santana Or Sting Would Be Great Too.

What’s next for you?

Always Make Music & Music Videos. Share It With The World. Travel  Travel  Travel. Business  Business  Business. I Want To Do Many Things & I Will.
