Norwegian born Hanne Leland has been making her mark, carving out a career as a popstar, although still a new artist, she has already amassed millions of streams on Spotify and garnered support from tastemaker outlets and supported All Saints on their sold out Red Flag comeback tour.
Working with some of pop’s leading producers, Hanne Leland who perfected her songwriting in Nashville and now splits time between studios in London, LA and Stockholm, where she has worked with the likes of Jim Eliot (Ellie Goulding, Kylie Minogue), they produced and co-wrote Stay together. Hanne also teamed up with UK production duo Red Triangle (Little Mix, Charlie Puth) where they wrote and produced singles such as Keep On Movin, QUEEN and Hungover You and over in LA Hanne spent late summer and Autumn of 2017 working with Brian West (Sia, Nelly Furtado) and Chin Injeti (Drake, P!nk) where they wrote and produced Carry On.
Never one to shy away from being open and honest in her music, Hanne Leland’s releases are all autobiographical and her brand-new single Underdogs is an electro-pop anthem, it’s a song that speaks to everyone that has ever felt like an outsider. In Underdogs Hanne is stating her opinion on the ‘cool kids’ who have ever given her and her friends the ‘side-eye’.
Underdogs is written by Hanne along with Nate Williams and produced by Hight (Lily Allen, John Newman). Speaking about the single Hanne says “I have always felt like an outsider. Like I don’t belong anywhere. Maybe that’s why I feel this need to support people who are seen as outsiders. Outsiders are often underestimated. That’s what the song is about. We are the underdogs”.
