Returning with what could be her standout single “Cheque, Please,” Niki Kennedy brings a bold and vibrant sound to the table that will entice your ears. Taken from her new record, The Weather Up Here, due out today Friday, November 9, Kennedy has a few surprises up her sleeve.
Hailing from New Zealand, and now living in Canada, the 5-song album is filled with elements of Jazz, Pop and Rock that shows her unique and growing range. Melodic tones and skillfully crafted harmonies bring Kennedy’s voice and vision to life which will have you in awe. No stranger to the stage, Kennedy has played roles such as Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sally Bowles in Cabaret, the title role in The Pied Piper, Cyndi Lauper in A Very 80’s Alice, Dodo in Absolute Alice, and Lady Nijo/Nell in Top Girls to name a few. If that doesn’t show range, I’m not sure what does!
