PREMIERE: Human Resources releases animated music video for “Caught Up”

The collaboration between Charleston-based animator David Stanfield and Human Resources, “Caught Up” is the first video released by HR not created by the band itself. After meeting Stanfield at a shared workspace and being impressed by his work, the band gave him carte blanche to interpret and animate a video for the song. What started as a simple looped clip eventually grew into the full-length custom video.

Stanfield, whose impressive resume includes work for Google and Vox, drew the majority of the elements by hand on an iPad before developing the full animation.

“Caught Up” is also the sixth track from Human Resources June 2018 release “Champagne” and the second track released produced by former Rooney guitarist, Taylor Locke. The track features guitarist Dries Vandenberg on lead vocals.

Aaron Utterback comments,

“It’s always cool when a professional connection leads to something more organic. I’d always admired David’s work and finally took a shot at asking him to put together a video for us, even though we probably couldn’t afford it, we’re lucky he said yes!”
