Grace Carter Confirmed To Support Dermot Kennedy On U.S. Tour

Grace Carter is set to embark on her first U.S. tour, supporting critically acclaimed singer Dermot Kennedy on the west coast leg of his upcoming dates. Grace joins Kennedy in San Diego on November 12 stateside on the heels of her own current UK/European headlining tour. Having previously toured with Kennedy, she has also opened for an additional impressive array of artists including HAIM, Dua Lipa, Mabel, Jorja Smith and Rag N Bone Man. Carter recently made her LA live debut in October as part of the buzzed-about School Night series.

Carter’s new single “Why Her Not Me” landed at the coveted #1 spot on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist in the UK, was featured on additional Spotify New Music Friday playlists in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland and more, and also included in Apple Music’s “Best of the Week.” Lana Del Rey and Dua Lipa recently tweeted about Grace; Dua called the new track & video “stunning” – watch it here. Rita Ora also shared a clip on her Instagram singing along to the infectious track to her fourteen million followers. “Why Her Not Me” continues to garner significant airplay in the UK on BBC Radio, having been made “Best New Pop” on Radio 1, added to their playlist and confirmed to be Greg James “Track of The Week,” and also named Record of the Week on Radio 2.

The debut EP Saving Grace was released this past summer, building upon Grace’s fanbase around the world. Vevo’s DSCVR platform recently featured Carter and raved she “will have you floored with every vocal melody and piano hook.” Watch her performances of “Why Her Not Me” and “Silence”. “Silence” has amassed over nine million streams.

Grace grew up in Brighton, England listening to the likes of Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone, whose influence are evident in her powerful songwriting and musical maturity. She began writing songs during her school days, and at the age of fourteen was already performing her own material. One year later, she converted her bedroom into a makeshift recording studio, and when Grace reached music college she taught herself the piano by watching YouTube videos.
