Deal Casino have released their latest music video for the song “Happy People”, a distorted, fast-paced, collection of footage from a recent jam session in their hometown of Asbury Park, NJ.
Coming on the heels of the Billboard-featured video for “French Blonde”, which featured a solo Joe P (lead vocals), “Happy People” gives viewers a chance to see Deal Casino’s dynamic together as a band. The lighthearted video sees them being playful in rehearsals, a surprising juxtaposition to a song that questions the entire meaning of life and happiness. Lyrics contradict visuals as the band puts on fake-turned-real smiles, bursting out laughing every time the camera is few inches from their faces. Filmed through a fisheye lens, the viewer gets up close and personal with the band and their full range of emotions.
Filmed at one of their at-home jam sessions, the bandmates chase each other with drills, play their instruments on the ground and in window sills, and they feature their dog, Boomer, in a cameo appearance. They’re dressed like the individuals they are, acting as they would if they weren’t being filmed. “Happy People” presents Deal Casino in their natural habitat.
The video was directed by Anthony Yebra.
Deal Casino’s next LP, LLC, will be coming out in November 2018.
