VHS Collection Release Debut Album Retrofuturism

Brooklyn based electro-rock band VHS Collection have released their debut full-length album, Retrofuturism – CLICK HERE to listen. “We are excited to be sharing our debut LP, Retrofuturism, which comes three years after the release of our first single. This album represents the end of the first chapter for our band and the start of a new one,” the band shares. “While writing Retrofuturism over the last year and a half, we’ve had the opportunity to grow a lot as songwriters and producers. Our band has also grown during this time, from playing empty bars to crowds of five people to playing some of the biggest festival stages in the world to thousands of fans. We’ve been able to do this all independently and it’s been incredible to see people from all around the world responding to our music.”

While fans have gotten a brief glimpse of VHS Collection the last few years with the release of “Waiting On The Summer,” “One,” and their latest single “Animal,” Retrofuturism gives listeners a more crystalizing look at the band’s direction and reflecting the production wizardry of Chris Zane (Passion Pit, St. Lucia) and Tony Hoffer (The Kooks, Phoenix, Beck). “We have tried on this record to capture the character of a lot of the classic records we grew up with alongside more modern sounds. While all of our productions start on our laptops in our bedrooms, we later bring in a lot of old analogue equipment into our productions to add richness and character to the record,” they explain. “The songs on this record cover a wide range of emotions, reflecting many of the ups and downs that we’ve experienced in the last year and a half.”
