On Saturday. October 27 a shooting rampage at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA left 11 people dead, people that have been described as loving, caring and selfless individuals. They were the steady anchors of a faith community that persists as a source of devotion, camaraderie and memory.
Robert Miller is an American Jew, an artist and leader of Jazz Rock fusion band Project Grand Slam. “Between the tragedy at the synagogue and the recent increase in anti-Semitism and gun violence in the country, I felt like I had to do something” – explains Miller
In releasing this song, it is Miller’s hope that it will bring more attention to the senseless and horrific gun violence that has plagued our nation and the need for stronger and more sensible gun control. While at the same time, help to raise money for the families of the victims and the Tree of Life congregation.
“It affects me deeply to continuously hear about the upswing in anti-Semitism, racism and gun violence in our country, I wanted to do something, particularly since none of our leaders have done anything to bring the country together. I hope the song will help in some way.” – said Miller
A special Thank you to Project Grand Slam members, Ziarra Washington (singer) and Baden Goyo (piano,) Lou Holtzman of EastSide Sound and Creative Entertainment Network who donated their time and talent to make this song happen.
