Alice D Releases “More 2 U”

Alice D is a London-based R&B singer with a unique soulful vibe. She has evolved from being an 11 year old “popstar-in-the-making” to the artist you see before you now. Growing up she was surrounded by music, her mother is singer/songwriter Sara Dallin from the group Bananarama and her father was a singer/songwriter in the band TRI and a dancer with, amongst others, Michael Jackson and Tina Turner, so you could say music is in her blood.

Having taken influence from artists such as Aaliyah, Brandy, Kelela & Banks, she has experimented with a range of genres from EDM to RnB. Earlier this year Alice started writing and recording with her good friend, musician and producer Oscar Scheller, (who’s worked with Mabel, MNEK and GIRLI.) As teenagers they released tracks they recorded in Oscar’s bedroom. Now with more experience under their belts they have collaborated on a new 5 track EP ‘NARCISSUS.’

Her previous release I Don’t Owe You was co-written with Eddie Jenkins (Example, The Streets) and showcased her musical direction and lyrical ability. Alice D crowdfunded the music video for the song, which her and her girlfriends filmed and created together. The track was played on Gary Crowley’s BBC Radio London Show and she has received previous support from BBC 1xtra.

On More 2 U taken off of the NARCISSUS EP, Alice D is definitely keeping it real as a British Urban act, with seductive vocals, a hint of Garage and slick RnB Pop production. Alice D describes the track as “A personal experience. It discusses coping with anxiety whilst being in a relationship. Wanting to give more but not being able to. Despite the frustration, there is a sense of determination. A recognition that you can overcome this”
