PREMIERE: Gestures & Sounds Release New Music Video For “Bum Scotch Loser”

Indie Rock buzz band Gestures & Sounds are sharing their new video for “Bum Scotch Loser,”  the second single from their upcoming record “Lightning is the Name of a Dog,” on November 16. With authentic and heartfelt compositions, the band brings lyrical wit and energetic instrumentation into each piece that they write. The video for “Bum Scotch Loser,” was crafted by the band themselves, in which they skillfully carry out their vision.

Gestures & Sounds share about the video:

“The music video for Bum Scotch Loser is set at a 10 year class reunion. We follow a character as he dips and dives from one conversation to the next. Being visual effects artists we wanted to use our skills to create a surrealist look at the lead character’s social anxiety and how it pushes him around uncomfortably through the reunion.

We’re known for the crazy visual effects we base our music videos around, but Bum Scotch Loser is our first video that uses our effects to tell the story. Here, pianos explode, bottles are impossibly tossed, and characters act oddly to create a dream-like class reunion setting that shows how we as a band would respond to that situation.”

Post High School saw best friends Jory, Erik and Brian leaving their home state of Wisconsin to pursue film careers. In their late night LA apartment endeavors, the beginning of Gestures & Sounds were born in muted jam sessions. Discovering their sound quickly, the trio took on drummer Jeremy to bring the band full circle. Warm sounds and illustrative lyrics are only a couple of elements that make Gestures & Sounds unique. Within one listen you’ll find yourself head over heels as they wear their hearts and their words on their sleeve.
