President Street, the Australian Pop Fusion Collective, are teaming up with VENTS for the release of their new single ‘Back Home’, an emotional and politically motivated anthem. The song, with its enrobing vocals and hard hitting sentiment is exactly the sort of track that the music industry needs right now.
President Street’s main man Pete Moses wrote ‘Back Home’ in response to the global refugee crisis that we are currently in the middle of. Pete wanted to depoliticise the crisis and bring humanity into the conversation. He wanted to remind everyone that these vulnerable people are trying to rediscover where exactly their home is, they are trying to create some semblance of a ‘home’ when they have been forced to leave their homeland behind.
“The subject matter is pretty heavy” muses Pete, “but I wanted to make the chorus feel ‘upbeat’ and optimistic as I wanted the song to be about people getting the chance to find their new home. I wanted to show some happiness in the depths of tragedy”.
Riding high on the success of their recently released hit single ‘Need You Now’ (which featured star of Prison Drama ‘Wentworth’ Kate Jenkinson’), President Street are ready to impress once more with their artistic production style and meaningful lyrics and sentiments.
So what is next for President Street? Well, with Back Home being released on the 7th of December, and the suggestion of touring in the not too distant future, it doesn’t look like things are going to slow down for this collective anytime soon…
