Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

We’re very good thanks and thank you for having us.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “California“?

California is the result of us having fun in a cold london studio thinking and dreaming about sunny Cali and the glamourous and intriguing Californian women.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

Wasn’t really an event, but the Californian culture that has made an impact on us. We are huge fans of the early dre and g funk era style music coming out of Cali in the 90’s. That’s a sound that we wanted to draw from and put our own spin on.

How was the filming process and experience behind the video?

The video was awesome. We had so much fun. Filming a pool party with beautiful people is always an easy days work. The location was awesome and the crew and dancers were fantastic, everybody had a great time. Can’t wait to do it again.

How was the recording and writing process?

T, Sambo and Joe started a vibe at T’s studio in london back in March and I came in half way through the session. We were missing a hook, so I suggested writing about California. We mostly laugh and joke and try not to force anything music wise. We like to have fun and not take ourselves too seriously. The track came together quite fast. We all play instruments and sing so it was a jam that turned into a song. We finished the record at joes london studio.

What role does LA and London play in your writing?

Our time is split across the two cities. We travel a lot through the year. Historically both cites have been at the heart of music trends. So it’s great way to stay current and inspired by what’s happening next.

Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else rather than in your own?

Same really. We always make time to have fun and just let any idea, no matter how good or bad flow. In fact the ones that don’t make the record are usually because they are just too “out there” which are basically just poor dad jokes. This happens no matter who’s in the room.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

We have been writing for a whole year now, so we have the next couple ready to go. Which is exciting for us because we can’t wait to share the material with our new fans.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

We still want to allow time for “California” to reach as many people as possible. So not rushing the next one.  We’re keeping the next one a secret for now.

Any plans to hit the road?

There’s talk of us going to do some shows in Australia. Our latest single seems to be connecting down under, so we might head out over thier summer.

What elsis happening next in Jraffe‘s world?

Going to party with Geoffrey the giraffe. He lost his job recently with toys r us so I’m gonna take him out for moral support. Should be a blast!! Only joking, We are currently working on some remixes with various djs on our record California and we to are remixing for others. It’s an exciting time. We have so much music we want to share with the world.
