Hi folks, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
It’s been a helluva busy time for us but that is a lot better than the alternative! (laughs)
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Dirty Disco”?
We can only tell you in sign language. It’s top secret but everything will be revealed on 25 October. So keep watching because you don’t want to miss anything!
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
BeXXX and I (Gregster) went to Barcelona to see if we could write songs together. When we were sitting on the beach we thought we better make a start. We ended up in a Bar called Bollox. We became inspired. Who wouldn’t be?
You have created one heck of an edgy video supporting the single? How did this come about and what is it saying?
That was down to BeXXX and the director/editor Roy Fullbrook. My input was wine, beer and the BeXit colour scheme. It’s really just saying WATCH ME.
How was the recording and writing process?
Tres difficile. I didn’t think the song would make the album let alone be the first single. Our producer instantly liked it but we had to work our butts off arrangement wise to keep the gear changes up. I must admit they are Formula 1 and we were on the track driving foot to the floor.
What role does London play in your music?
Gregster: I’m from London. Born and raised. I love London. I love music. To me they go hand in hand. Otherwise I’d be writing about rivers or tapestry. So, I guess it’s a big role.
How have Joan Jett and Blondie or other artists influenced your writing?
Bexx: Strong rock n rollers. I thought ‘I can do that!’ Gregster: I had their posters on my wall. I just wrote “ I love you ( both)”
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Its already in the pipe as it were. Hey You ! the debut album is out 15 November in all formats on Zube Records. You can definitely expect some more surprises from us when that comes out.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
Gregster: Oops! I guess we just spilled those beans.
Any plans to hit the road?
Yep we’re just putting the tracks on The Panzer Division as we speak. But we’ll probably end up doing it on an Oyster Card. Seriously though you can expect to see us popping up on the continent in the new year and further afield later in 2019.
What else is happening next in Bexatron’s world?
Gregster: I’ll have to ask the band or our label or our management. I’m never really sure these days. I’m sure a beer or two will be involved.
BeXX: Getting geared up for our Hey You! album launch on Saturday 17 November at Two Tribes Kings X. You wanna come?
