Sam Fender shares new single “That Sound.” Track off “Dead Boys” EP Out November 20

Newcastle, UK-based Sam Fender is very pleased to share a new single, “That Sound,” which is off his forthcoming debut EP Dead Boys, out November 20 through Polydor Records.  It just received its first radio spin in the UK as a “Hottest Record In The World” premiere on Annie Mac’s Radio 2 show.

Describing the song, Sam explains: “Simply put, ‘That Sound’ is a celebration of music, but it’s also a not-so-subtle middle finger to the naysayers that tend to rear their heads as soon as things start to work out for you, especially back at home. It’s about finding strength to ignore it all, and keep doing your own thing.”

The last 18-months has seen Fender releasing a handful of singles whose lyrics tackle hard-hitting subjects of social importance and generational significance. They are broadly drawn from his experiences growing up in NE England. The content is significant, and wrapped in rousing, propulsive, arena-sized anthems.  He was featured on the BBC Sound of 2018 shortlist and later this month is embarking on a sold-out, headlining tour of the UK (dates below).

Sam will be releasing his debut EP Dead Boys on November 20. Pre-order the Dead Boys EP here.

Today’s single is the follow up to the the “Dead Boys” single which centers on the growing problem of male suicide around the world.  The track is raw in its delivery and subject matter.  He just performed the single on “Later…with Jools Holland” – watch hereWatch the video for “Dead Boys” here
