BillieBlack is a rising young British female singer-songwriter whose music has drawn comparisons to Banks, Jessie Ware and Jorja Smith, and it’s easy to see why with her effortless combination of RnB, jazz and electronica.
Forging her own musical path, Billie Black grew up in a house surrounded by an eclectic mix of music including Roots Reggae and 70’s disco.
Tipped as “Vogue’s woman of the moment”, at just 19, BillieBlack was signed to Warner Chappell Publishing, following this she released two critically acclaimed EPs on her own label, hitting millions of streams on Spotify and each reaching 180,000 plays on YouTube. If this is not enough to contend with, BillieBlack has also released material with MuraMasa and supported Jack Garratt on tour.
Following a stint of writing with Warner Chappell writer Paul Statham (co-writer of Dido’s breakthrough hits ‘Here With Me’ and ‘No Angel’),Billie Black was encouraged to release the music as part of a three-track EP. The result is ‘TheLastTime’ EP, which is released on November 9th.
Speaking of the title track from the EP, Bille Black explains,
“It’s about passion and desire. Letting your heart lead your head and not the other way round. Pursuing a love that you know isn’t good for you but that you can’t seem to let go. About learning to be vulnerable and finding a certain strength in that”.
