NHL News For Serious Hockey Fans

The NHL regular session is still in its infancy. Nevertheless, it has already stirred up a little bit of controversy and a great deal of excitement. There has been battles on and off the ice for some of hockey’s biggest names. Anyone who is a fan of hockey will agree that this season is going to be just as exciting as the last couple. Below, you’re going to learn about some of the hottest hockey news during the past few weeks.

Bruins Goalie

The Boston Bruins haven’t come anywhere near a Stanley Cup in the past few years. During this time, Tuukka Rask has remained the team’s number one goalie. Some believe that this could change this year. First and foremost, Rask has won one game and lost one. He has a 5.49 goals against average with a .840 save percentage. It is own two games in, but the Washington game on opening night was definitely a black eye for the veteran. Meanwhile, the newcomer Jaroslav Halak has been very impressive. On Thursday night, he managed to stop 25 of 26 shots against the Oilers.

And, he has put together two wins with no losses. Could Halak soon overtake Rask and become the team’s starting goalie? Anyone who wants to take a bet on the outcome should read this Wonderino Casino review and sign up. This is definitely something hockey fans will want to keep an eye on.

Ducks Lead By John Gibson

John Gibson, who is the goalie for the Anaheim Ducks, didn’t get a lot of attention last session. In fact, he didn’t pick up a single vote for the Vezina Trophy. And, he was very good last season. This year, it seems that he is going to be even better. At this point, the Ducks are 3-0-1. The Ducks have many shortcomings, but Gibson has managed to help them stay alive. He has already put together a save percentage of .955. The team has won very close games and Gibson deserves a lot of credit for those wins. Still, the season is young and anything can happen from now until then.

Pred’s Austin Watson

Before the season even got underway, Nashville Predators forward Austin Watson made big news when he was arrested for domestic assault. Now, Watson has pleaded no contest to the charges. The NHL gave the player a 27 game suspension. That has since been reduced. Arbitrator Shyam Das has decided to reduce the suspension to just 18 games and the NHL is not happy about it. Watson is scheduled to return on November the 15th.

Knights Start Slow

The Vegas Golden Knights surprised pretty much everyone last season. They’ve managed to do the same this year. However, there is a big difference. This year, the team is surprising by starting the season pretty badly. The team has gone 1-4-0 so far. They’ve lost to the Sabres, Flyers, Penguins and Capitals. They managed to eek out one win against Minnesota in overtime. Over the course of five games, the team has only scored 10 goals. If they want to repeat last year’s success, they’ll need to catch up quickly.
