Oginalii tackles freedom of choice in fiery new single “No Littering”

Nashville-based female-fronted rock machine Oginalii (oh-gun-ALL-ee), who is gearing up to release their debut full-length album Cause and Affection on April 9th, has unleashed another single–“No Littering” is a dynamic tune about freedom of choice released on 10/5 that begins sweetly and ends with a (head)bang: https://soundcloud.com/oginalii/no-littering-oginalii/s-O7XJE

Frontwoman and main shredder Emma Hoeflinger says, “What started as a song about freedom of choice became one of the most challenging songs I’ve written lyrically. I didn’t want anyone to feel alienated by the topic. You can be religious, atheist, loving, caring, and still not have to have kids. That’s not your identity as a woman. We were all a miracle to someone at one point as a child and that doesn’t mean you stopped being one. Together we all created a song that has my favorite blend sonically. We pushed ourselves with the progression of the song and gave the message a platform to stand on. I hope this song can be a reminder to all the beautiful women out there of your inner power.”

They recently premiered the album’s lead single “Further In/Out” at Earmilk. “This song was me channeling all my frustrations/angst/anger at all the bullshit my female friends and I come across within the music industry, specifically,” Emma explained of the song. “It became my mantra of sorts because having to choose between staying silent or speaking up shouldn’t have to be so hard. I want to set precedent but I also know making that choice isn’t going to be fun and it won’t be easy. However, I do get a kick out of people getting pissed ’cause women don’t want to take shit anymore. I’m down to be uncomfortable if it means I’m rattling those cages.” You can listen here: https://soundcloud.com/oginalii/further-inout/s-ddxtl
