INTERVIEW: All Types of Kinds

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been? How was California?

Billy: Hello! California was incredible. The people were lovely, the gigs were fun, and the whole vibe was chill. Hoping to return soon.

How are you preparing for your upcoming tour dates?

Billy: We are looking to expand our sound and sonic palette live, so we are experimenting more during our rehearsals and really locking down our parts.

What show are you looking forward to the most o the east coast?

Billy: The shows I’m looking forward to the most are the Rockwood gigs. It’s a chance to give back to the fans who have come to every show by giving them an intimate, solid hour of our best and sometimes giving them a brand new song. It’s also the best venue to invite people who have never heard us before because of how intimate it is.

Does the approach or set list tends to change depending on the city or venue?

Billy: We have blocks of songs that we tend to play, but every set is different because of the room itself. We like to feel the room, read it, and develop a set there and then (to the dismay of our manager.) But, we have our solid sets when we need to deliver.

How all your background does comes together on your music?

Billy: It allows to us to approach the destination from all different angles. Maybe one of us has a solution that no one else thought of or a contribution that greatly improves the song. We are open to new ideas and are willing to try them.

You guys have an album out – will you be solely promoting that record or can fans expect some surprises?

Billy: Yes! “Love Songs” is available on Spotify and we also have a few singles. We have a lot of new material as well as songs that are not yet recorded that make regular appearances in our live sets, so we always have something new.

What else is happening next in All Types of Kinds’ world?

Billy: Well, I hope that we embark on another tour in spring. Make our way through the East and maybe end up back in California. We also have another EP recorded and are currently writing another, along with other singles. I’m excited for what we have in store for everyone in the next few months.
