Singer – songwriter andmulti – instrumentalist, æmma, is set to play a special headline show at Bush Hall in Shepherd’s Bush on Wednesday the 24th October 2018.
The ‘Hunters Moon’ night will see her accompanied on grand piano by a string quartet, driving beats and synths together with a female choir. The evening will also feature a live performance from Nick Francis & The Quill; an eighteen piece folk orchestra.
æmma recently released adebut single entitled ‘House Of Hym’ on the fledgling LGM Records. Making it’s premiere on The Line Of Best Fit, the track isbeautifully crafted dark pop that’s both unsettling and magical and is the first indication of what to expect from the forthcoming debut album.
Thou now London based, æmma was born and raised in the remote and bleak yet inspirational wilderness of Dartmoor. The multi – talented classically trained composer is a bold, songwriting visionary that evokes the sound of Fiona Apple, PJ Harvey’s ‘White Chalk’ album and early Goldfrapp meets LA native Julia Holter. A sense of magic, romance and wonder is created through complex haunting melodies and arrangements, brought together by powerful cerebral lyrics that encourage sensitivity, romance and vulnerability in a society that often celebrates the opposite.
