An outing can be great fun especially if you’ve got some friends to share it with. If you tend to find yourselves doing the same old things, how about trying to spice it up a little. Take your outings to a whole new level with some tips that will make them memorable. Dinner and drinks with your mates are always going to be possible. Now’s the time to organize an outing with a difference. Camping in the mountains, a weekend in the city, kayaking, an adventure weekend or taking in a major sporting event can all be possible with a little bit of planning.
Choose a Date and Location
Getting a group of friends together can be a complicated affair, which is why you need to plan ahead. In time you may well have a regular weekend that you choose to go away for every year. However, until then you’re going to need to choose the date carefully. Talk to your friends and find out what suits them.
Once you’ve chosen a date, you can get on with picking a location. If you want to watch an NBA game, for example, you’re going to need to decide which city you want to watch the game in. Once you’ve chosen the location, you can visit a ticket sale site and book all the tickets.
Book the Accommodation
With the date and location chosen it’s time to book the accommodation. If your outing is on the weekend, you’ll need to make arrangements well in advance, especially if a major sporting event is taking place in the city. If you’re not planning to attend a special event as part of the outing, then you’ll have more flexibility in your choice of where to stay. Outings with friends means you might want to check out rental properties in the area. Airbnb, HomeAway, and other online rental sites are the best places to look.
Organize Some Activities
Rather than just lazing around on your outing organize some fun group activities. It could be going to the beach and playing volleyball or paintballing in a forest. If you spend time doing some research, you’ll be amazed at the different activities available in the area you’ve chosen. You’ll also need to find out what your friends are interested in. You don’t need to worry too much about the details, but it pays to have a general plan.
Planning Your Meals
If you’re planning a weekend away, rather than a day outing, you need to think about meals. One way to make it more fun and cheaper is to ask for volunteers to cook some of the meals. Have a friend who is a dab hand at making paella or one who loves to barbeque. Working together means the preparation will be quicker and it’s a good way to bond with friends.
Aside from bringing food, you’re also going to need to think about other supplies such as drinks and toilet paper. Make a list of the things you need and decide who’s going to bring what. When everything has been sorted, all that’s left is to wait for your weekend away and then make sure you all enjoy it.
