After just one season, WYATT MCCLURE is the unforgettable, break-out star of YOUNG SHELDON, CBS’ hit spin-off comedy series of THE BIG BANG THEORY. In the role of “Billy Sparks,” Wyatt quickly charmed his way into viewers’ hearts and was crowned “Scene Stealer of the Year.” Wyatt also landed a spot on Hollywood’s coveted “Ones To Watch” shortlist.
Wyatt’s acting career began on the big screen with roles in the feature films “Psychos,” “Terror of Hallow’s Eve,” and the unforgettable, “The Fault in Our Stars” alongside Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort. This Fall, Wyatt will be see in the theatrical release, “Glass Jar,” the redemption story of Travis Austin, a one time champion boxer who goes to prison and loses everything. After his release, he experiences the trials and tribulations of redeeming his reputation, his belt, and his true love.
Prior to debuting on “Young Sheldon,” Wyatt showed off his comedy skills for two seasons in the YouTube series, “Between 2 Phat Kids.” He and fellow “Phat Kid,” Brice Fisher, interviewed celebrities including Bill A. Jones from “Glee,” Josh Server from “Good Girls Revolt,” Alisa Reyes from “All That,” Ava Cantrell from “Lights Out,” and Autumn Wendell from “Every Witch Way,” among others! They also performed in numerous skits, including fan favorite, “Bye, Felicia.”
VENTS sat down with Wyatt for a quick chat in-between takes while shooting the second season of “Young Sheldon”…
VENTS: What inspired you to pursue acting?
WYATT: When I was 5 I loved Watching cartoons on TV. I thought that would be really cool to be on TV and make people laugh. Five years later I am living out my dream!
VENTS: On YOUNG SHELDON, you are a scene-stealing funnyman — are you also one off-screen?
WYATT: I love to be a goofball and tell jokes and make people laugh and act silly.
VENTS: How has your life changed now that you are on a huge, hit TV show?
WYATT: Well, I have been able to meet a lot of great actors. Young Sheldon is like a big family and I am so happy to be part of it.
VENTS: Our readers are gamers like yourself — share some of your FortNite secrets.
WYATT: Well, I only have 71 wins and I have been playing since October — I am still looking for those winning secrets myself!
VENTS: We will also see you this Fall on the big screen in GLASS JAW — tell us about your character and the film.
WYATT: My character is a bully who is not very nice. He learns his lesson when he picks on the wrong person.
VENTS: For our sports fans, give us your biggest predictions for this year.
WYATT: I think that my home team, the Cleveland Browns will win at least 5 games and I really believe the CAVS will still make the playoffs!
