Driven by a want to go against the grain and write music outside of the standard commercialised narrative OVVLS made a pact to exist in their own musical realm. Having both come from contradicting musical backgrounds the pair set out to challenge genre ideals and fight back against the global trends that have been dictating contemporary music within the last decade.

Less Than Pure proves that the pair aren’t just empty promises. By providing a unique song with a superlative foundation of production work layered with rich harmonic textures, mesmerizing vocal lines and a melancholy soundscapes, OVVLS showcase not just their compositional prowess but their ability to back up the direction with which they wish to take their music.

Less Than Pure was co written with renowned bass guitarist Brian Campbell of the rock band Clinic. The lyrics were inspired by the perspicacious advertising industry and the consequent control these companies have. Due to the nature and quality of OVVLS previous work they had an eclectic mix of producers who were willing to work with them on new material. After sending their demo to a multitude of producers the pair settled on Anthony as they felt he challenged their artistry.

Having previously been featured on BBC 6 Music and even playing on the same line up as artists Lets Eat Grandma and Warpaint, OVVLS are already impressing the right people. The quality of their content paired with their entrepreneurial mindset and ethos has allowed the pair to garner attention from all across the globe. With a growing social media presence OVVLS continue to make waves in the right direction. Less Than Pure is set to release on the 21st of September 2018 and will be available across a number of major platforms as well as a video release on the same day.
