22 year-old Italian singer/songwriter Violetta Zironi has been building an increasingly impressive profile across both Europe and the UK with her singles ‘Don’t Make Me a Fool’, ‘Toast’ and the release of her debut EP ‘Half Moon Lane’ at the turn of the year. She now comes through with another beautiful single, ‘Little Wound’, featuring California based singer/songwriter Ed Prosek. Listen here
‘Little Wound’ is a gorgeous, parred back track that elegantly evolves to an intoxicatingly powerful crescendo featuring a duet with acclaimed singer/songwriter Ed Prosek. Mentored by the legendary producer Rupert Hine, Ed has built a sizeable following through his honest vocals and emotive song writing – The perfect complement to Violetta’s soft and instantly recognisable voice and serves to underline exactly why there is an ever-increasing noise around her name.
Speaking on the track Violetta states; “Little wound is a confession of guilt. Expressing the feeling of being more in love with the feeling of instability and challenge, than with the other person. After being wounded in the past; Sometimes you can’t live without it anymore.”
Starting to write music at just 16, Violetta would spend months travelling across America, jamming with local musicians, picking up inspirations and forging a true, earthy, natural sound that draws on folk, Americana and her own emotional journeys. Violetta is prodigal enough to have been involved in some remarkable situations already: playing ’Stand By Me’ on-stage with the legendary Ben E. King, being personally requested to accompany Jack Savoretti on tour and picking up viral acclaim for her SXSW show and SOFAR SOUNDS shows, Violetta keeps up the output with another cuttingly intimate, raw performance.
