Open Mic UK 2018 Auditions Announced

Open Mic UK, the UK’s premier music competition for unsigned acts, is now open for this year’s round of auditions.  The auditions are taking place across the UK including Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Essex, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield and Southampton.

All types of singers, songwriters, rappers and vocal groups of all ages are encouraged to enter. See end of release for full audition dates and times.

The music competition attracts over 10,000 acts every year across the country and previous winners include Birdy winner of Echo Award for Best International Rock/Pop Female Artist, Lucy Spraggan and Jaymi Hensley from Union J.

Acts will have the opportunity to audition in front of experienced music industry judges and gain invaluable feedback.  The winner of Open Mic UK will get the chance to record their debut album and music video plus benefit from extensive media promotion.

Acts can perform either covers or original materials from any genre, so whether you’re into Pop, R&B, Acoustic or Classical, Open Mic UK welcomes you. Acts who are successful in the audition go through to a Regional Final Showcase and will get to perform live at some of the best venues in the country.  The winners of each regional final will then progress to the Open Mic UK National Grand Final which will be held at London’s indigo at The O2.

Finalists will get to perform in front of a live audience, celebrity guests and the judges including A&R music industry professionals from Universal Music, Sony and Modest Management.  Aspiring singers and songwriters can enter by registering at http://www.openmicuk.co.uk/to secure their audition.

Open Mic UK offers a fantastic opportunity to not only show off your musical talent to industry professionals, but also to gain real life experience and develop your act in this highly competitive industry!
