Night Shop shares “In The Break” album stream with an essay by Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee

In The Break, Justin Sullivan’s debut album as Night Shop, is out this week, and today it’s streaming in advance on the Talkhouse along with an essay written by Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee. “There’s a warm familiarity woven in to it, like you’re just at the diner with your friend in feverish agreement about some way in which you both feel on the outside of something,” writes Crutchfield. “If everybody walks around feeling like an outsider, and connecting with other people who share that feeling is how we feel less alone, then this album listens like two people empowered by a shared feeling of alienation.”

In The Break is out this Friday, September 14 on Woodsist/Mare Records. It is available for pre-order on digital and vinyl now.

Night Shop is currently on tour with Waxahatchee and Anna St. Louis and will play a hometown release show at LA’s Permanent Records in Highland Park, followed by a month of October dates with his Mare Records labelmate Shannon Lay.
